Objectives and Vision
Recent advances in the processes of message production, distribution, and reception within the global media system have brought about profound transformations in the cultural and social relationships of individuals, groups, and nations. In fact, communication technologies have become a key factor in shaping individual and social identities; therefore, close attention to these developments is essential in media studies.
Undoubtedly, the IRIB University, as the country’s highest comprehensive center for media education and research, drawing upon the rich experience of media professionals and the scholarly expertise of specialists in media sciences and the arts, bears the responsibility of providing the necessary foundations for research and theory development in this field. The publication of the scholarly quarterly Interdisciplinary Studies in Communication and Media has been undertaken with this very objective, serving as a reliable and authoritative reference in media studies.
In accordance with the regulations of the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, this quarterly has, since 2018, fully implemented an electronic submission, review, and acceptance process through its online system at Jiscm.iribu.ac.ir.
The receipt of scientific accreditation from the Office of Policy-Making and Research Planning of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, along with the indexing of articles in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) and the assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to reviewed and published articles, reflects the journal’s progressive development and the continuous enhancement of the scientific quality of its publications, aimed at achieving a leading reference position in the field of audiovisual media sciences in the country.
With the grace of the Almighty and the continued support of professors, researchers, and scholars in media sciences, we hope that this journal will soon attain a distinguished position among the nation’s scientific and research journals.
