An Analysis on the Standpoint of Art & Experience Cinema in Iran’s Cinema as an Independent Field (From Pierre Bourdieu Perspective)

Abstract
In recent years, due to the expanded evolutions in the field of producing & screening films in Iran, the tendency towards artistic aspects of filmmaking in different genres has led to the formation of the Art & Experience Cinema Institute. Under governmental support, this newly born institute could propound itself among filmmakers & audiences as a cultural base for producing art films. This occurrence very much resembles what happened in French Cinema during the 60s. The present research tries to take advantage of the views of French Sociologist “Pierre Bourdieu” and analyze the standpoint of Iran’s Art & Experience cinema based on his “Field Theory”. The research will also intend to show how Art & Experience cinema tries to define itself as an independent entity besides mainstream cinema having autonomous features. This research will also examine the fact that to what extent this effort has been successful.
