Abstract
In the third decade of the 21st century, radio and television programs have grown in size and scope. In particular, the live broadcast of these programs via satellites has sidelined the previous control and supervision of governments. This is despite the fact that children, as the most vulnerable in society, are most affected by such programs. Accordingly, the groundwork has been laid for regulating global and regional conventions to protect children from inappropriate content on radio and television programs. A comparative study of international instruments and domestic law reveals that there are several common themes in the prohibition or restriction of the broadcasting of radio and television programs. These include violence, pornography, privacy, abusive language and advertising for children. In each of these cases, the position of international, regional and national regulations governing the broadcasting of media and upstream radio documents is presented. Based on the findings of this study, in the vast majority of cases, this position has converged.
