Abstract
The role of media in managing socio-political and environmental crises can be systematically analyzed using the cyclical model of message production, transmission, and reception. This model emphasizes media accountability through indicators such as accuracy, transparency, awareness-raising, trust-building, responsibility, and recovery. In this process, media play a key role in transforming crisis perception into public trust by producing credible content and delivering information rapidly and clearly to the audience. Socio-political crises are often emotionally charged, while environmental crises tend to have a more operational and technical nature. Social networks have also gained a prominent position in this process by facilitating information dissemination and social organization. The success of media in crisis management largely depends on their level of independence and the quality of technological infrastructure; however, challenges such as information censorship and infrastructural weaknesses can undermine the effectiveness of this cycle. Implementing this model can enhance crisis management and better prepare society for future crises. From a scientific perspective, quantitative evaluation of media performance and comparative analysis of various media models during crises are among the key recommendations for advancing this field. Ultimately, by acting as proactive agents in strengthening social cohesion, enhancing public participation, and contributing to post-crisis recovery, media play a decisive role in mitigating the impacts of various crises.
