Abstract
Cyberspace, as one of the new dimensions of human life, had a profound impact on various aspects of individual and social life. One of the prominent phenomena in this field is “food blogging.” The increasing growth of the food blogging phenomenon on social networks, with consequences such as promoting consumerism and waste, highlights the necessity of examining this behavior from a jurisprudential perspective. Food blogger pages have attracted many followers by producing and widely publishing visual and video content (such as mukbang, cooking lessons, restaurant reviews, etc.). In this regard, to examine the jurisprudential dimensions of these activities, we first analyzed the structure and process of food bloggers’ content production, and then, citing narrative and intellectual evidence, we have attempted to clarify the jurisprudential verdict on this phenomenon. The research method includes analyzing the content of blogger pages, examining jurisprudential texts, and using a descriptive-analytical method. Based on the results, some forms of food blogging, such as mukbang, are considered forbidden based on rational and narrative evidence, while other forms may be considered objectionable. The specific duties of the Islamic government in monitoring and organizing the content produced in this field and supporting the production of healthy and useful content, have also been examined.
