Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Communication and Media  (IRIB University)

The Quarterly Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Communication and Media is published in order to facilitate and expand the new and local knowledge of the researchers in the interdisciplinary field of communication and media and strengthen the research activities in the area to be employed for the quality improvement of media productions across Iran and identification of the new media around the world. From among the main criteria of the journal for accepting papers are: attempting to solve the issues and problems of the Iranian media and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and offering practical suggestions in the field. The theoretical papers that deliver careful analysis and interpretations with practical and applied dimensions would be, also, the candidate papers to publish.

The thematic areas of The Quarterly Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Communication and Media are as follows: interdisciplinary studies on television, radio, film and communication; interdisciplinary studies on social networks and communication, interdisciplinary studies on cyberspace and communication, interdisciplinary studies on commercial advertising, news and communication, interdisciplinary studies on children, lifestyle and communication, and interdisciplinary studies on ethics, culture and media literacy.

The quarterly is published in the specialized area of Media and Communication by the IRIB University with “scientific” (Elmi) grade and in Persian (with English abstracts) in both print and electronic formats. The minimum peer review process (double-blind review with two reviewers and one chief editor) will take two to three months. Reviewing the articles and publication of them in this quarterly is free of charge. However, the esteemed authors are required to pay a fee in case they withdraw their articles after the review process. Accessing all articles is in full text, free and in the form of APA referencing style. While respecting the journals’ publication ethics, this journal follows The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the executive regulation of the law of preventing from and dealing with fraud in scientific works. Moreover, the journal will examine plagiarism and its instances and will act according to the regulations set by the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT).
