Introduction: Radio and television presenters face a lot of stress, which can cause job and emotional burnout in them. The aim of this research was investigate the role of perceived stress, cognitive emotion regulation, and mindfulness skills in predicting emotional burnout in radio and television presenters.
Methodology: The present research was applied in terms of purpose, descriptive-survey in terms of nature, and correlational in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of this research consisted of all radio and television presenters of Tehran city in 2023 year. According to the Cochran formula, 230 people were selected using the snowball sampling method. The research instruments included Maslach and Jackson Emotional Burnout Questionnaire (1981), Cohen et al. Perceived Stress Questionnaire (1983), Gross and John Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2003), and Bauer et al. Mindfulness Skills Questionnaire (2006). To analyze the data were used the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression in SPSS software.
Findings: The results of this research showed that with increasing stress, the level of emotional burnout of radio and television presenters increases, and with increasing cognitive emotion regulation and mindfulness skills, the level of their emotional exhaustion decreases. Also, perceived stress, cognitive emotion regulation, and mindfulness skills were able to predict 40% of the emotional burnout of radio and television presenters (P<0.001).
Conclusion: According to the results of this research, by increasing cognitive emotion regulation and mindfulness skills and reducing the perceived stress of radio and television presenters through educational workshops can be reduced their emotional burnout.
