Despite the fact that only five decades have passed from the birth of methodology in architectural design as a major, studies in this ground have revolutionized the process of creation in architecture. Likewise, due to inefficiency of old methods in architectural design, the complexity of issues in present architecture and decadence of identity in architecture, applying new techniques seems essential. By considering the fact that Cinema is one of the most important media events in 20th century and the subject of motion is being studied both artistically and academically, it has become one of the most recent inclinations in architectural design projects. Consequently, a deeper exploration on interdisciplinary grounds of Cinema & architecture becomes a necessity. In this article a new method in architectural design called “Cinematic Architecture” is introduced. After describing the cinematic concepts & elements, the architectural instances for each of them is expressed, this is followed by presenting images for each case, and then the connecting links of cinema & architecture are suggested as hypothesis. Finally, these hypotheses are submitted to the researchers of cinema and architecture (and to the students of the two fields as well) in order to measure the sense of motion in the images. The results of the research show that these hypotheses have average potential in designing and specifically in creating the sense of motion in architecture.
